Nomadically I scavange.

With no sail I have no choice but drift. 
Approaching clouds carry me this gift. 
Sun dried and tattered. 
Each inch of me hurts.

But still dying of thirst.

Preparing for the storm. 
Staring up as the rain begins to take form. 
I close my eyes and open my mouth. 
Fill up my soul. My life is this drought. 
Drop by drop it leaks. This is all I want. 
But only a few fall. 
While the clouds still haunt. 
Draping like a halo, A crown of upsets. 
Is this a sign I’m not ready for it yet?

Slowly it etches, jagged cracks appear 
the face of a lion, the sum of my fears 
as I walk it grows steadily erupting 
glacier teeth front it’s mouth 
scraping clouds make up it’s mane 
from all the hate I try to redirect 
from all the pain I don’t like affect 
my stone face, its like this mountain is me 
solid to the eye, but melting underneath 
callous and numb, I make my ascent 
up this volcanic slope as I try to pretend 
that i’m just indifferent 
meanwhile the rage is overflowing 
climbing higher to reach the summit 
striving harder to overcome it 
the misery that dwells in me 
wrath flowing through every vein 
I feel the knot begin to tie 
internal pressure starts to rise 
fangs of temper bite my chest 
with crushing jaws, it overwhelms 
the lava, the angst, the eruption 
from the… 
from all the hate I try to redirect 
from all the pain I don’t like affect

solid to the eye, but melting underneath
